Our March Through My Eyes

I took 2 of my grands to Dr. Seuss Nite at the library. We did a scavenger hunt...
...and Dr Seuss craft.

After a stressful start -2 missed flights, and another near miss on the way home- Jeremy enjoyed a "work" trip in the DR. Tough job but somebody gotta do it. 🤷

I taught the 2nd round of a Home Ec class on making & garnishing cheesecakes...

One evening we had an amazing teacher appreciation meal. We were among the lucky benefactors on account of my position as school secretary, not because either of us is a teacher. Just to be clear.

We had all of our grands here for a sleepover one Friday night. They did better than we expected- they slept all night, between 10-13 hours straight. This picture from the next day makes me laugh every time I look at it. Colton informed me that I stand like daddy. Ok, that was random. But then he corrected me- he said daddy puts one hand on his hip and the other hand on the counter "like this" when he's waiting on the food to cook. Truly more is caught than taught!
Until now, Wyatt has left my houseplants alone. But that day he investigated the dirt while Grammie was distracted with cooking mac & cheese. While Grammie laughed & took pictures, big brother swooped in, tackled him to the floor and lectured him. Poor kid!

Way back in 2010, we went to Cheddars and had a terrible experience. We never went to Cheddars again in all these years. But we decided to give them another chance, at long last. This was a different location, but the service was as good as it was horrible the first time. I would say the food has improved too.
That was during our annual trek to the Mid-America Truck Show in KY. We scored some VIP tickets this year for the first time.
The amount of walking required over those 3 days is getting beyond what I can handle. Sitting through workshops is essential...
...and sitting in the vehicle crocheting, reading, listening to podcasts, and ordering library books while Richard walked through the Pride & Polish show trucks was a win-win for us both.

In addition to a communion service & love feast on Good Friday, we had a Tenebrae ceremony.  Tenebrae is the Latin word meaning "darkness." The story of the suffering and death of Jesus is divided into readings, with a candle extinguished after each segment is read. We left in silence immediately afterwards to ponder the impact of Christ's death and await the celebration of the coming Resurrection, which was really different for our congregation but quite meaningful.
Richard & I made a "flying" trip to my family's gathering the next day. The highlight was meeting my precious new nephew.
He is Risen indeed!
My favorite littles in their Easter outfits
We had 3 gatherings on Easter, taking food to each one, but it was a good day.

Not pictured: all the spring cleaning going on here this month.
