The small monstera plant I purchased a couple years ago obviously thrives in the conditions of our master bath- it now had a 20" leaf. If you squint when you're soaking in our tub, you just might think you are in the tropics. 😁
Creating "flubber" (slime) with the grands was a big hit. They played for hours with it! Colton's favorite thing is to let it slowly stretch -hanging over the edge of the kitchen bar- into a long rope he dubs "Rapunzel's hair".
My brother, SIL & nephew came west for the solar eclipse. Originally I was not planning to travel anywhere to see it -our own yard was sufficient. After all, we just had one in 2017, debunking the "once-in-a-lifetime" hype. But since I was planning to catch a ride back east with them, I was along for the ride. We went to a small park located in the path of totality. In spite of the media issuing dire warnings about traffic jams, huge crowds and jammed cell towers, we did not find that to be the case where we went.
I must admit it was pretty cool when everything went dark and the dusk-to-dawn lights came on. Glad I got to experience totality! I spent the next several days with my parents helping out with spring cleaning and landscaping.
I flew home on the usual commuter flight. There were 4 of us ladies on the flight and we knew before take-off that we were flying into a storm, which is an 'adventure' on a small plane. I had my family praying that I wouldn't get airsick. I felt fine, steady as a rock. But halfway through, the lady across from me started chewing gum vigorously, removed her jacket, and mopping her brow so I deduced she wasn't faring so well. She did quite well at containing things -until 10 minutes before landing. The used airsick bag disintegrated in her lap, and the smell made me eager to exit the plane. (I highly recommend to the airline that they upgrade their bags!) The flight reminded me why I don't ride roller coasters.
me, happy to be back on the ground
Meanwhile Jeremy was enjoying Sun 'n' Fun in Florida.
Aren't these the most amazing cotton candy clouds?
Richard & I went to a concert one Saturday evening.
I was slightly shocked how many seniors showed up for NewsBoys...
...and Mercy Me. Apparently these are no longer considered young people's bands. Who knew?! Oh wait, all these old people are in our age bracket. 🙈
One evening Richard & I went to an [informal] Swiss concert. The choir director was our local guide in Europe, so it was fun to connect with Europe friends again -on this side of the pond.
...but it did stop us from driving till 2am to get home.
I was fortunate enough to go along with our sweet grandson for his pre-op appointment. He has esotropia, and had eye surgery this month to correct it. God must have a special plan for his life because he has been an expensive kiddo thus far [with all his medical issues]. He is a trooper and I love him so much!
We got to hear alp horns once again.
Last year Colton was scared of Richard's scooter, but this year he can't get enough.
When it's surgery day for baby Wyatt, and you get to stay at PopPop & Grammie's house... (If you scowl enough, you might con Grammie into printing out dinosaurs for you to practice your cutting.)
