We took a road trip to Boston this month.
Plan A was to attend commencement at Sattler College for our favorite college student, and move her back home. This was a big deal- 1st college graduate in our family and 1st graduating class of the Sattler College. But the Massachusetts Department of Education had other plans.
So plan B involved lots of walking, trying new foods, admiring a beautiful city, riding the T and meeting many of the people we've been hearing about for the last [academic] year. All vacation & providing moving services, but no Pomp & Circumstance celebrating a "ton" of hard work. 💪
I love Boston's brownstones! So when the motel we originally booked cancelled on us, I went to VRBO and booked an apartment in a Copley Square brownstone instead.
We were on the back/alley side of these apartments, which was great because it was quieter than the street side. We also liked having the reserved parking option -no stress over finding a place to park. Would definitely stay at Copley House again.
There are many wonderful ethnic restaurants in Boston. We tried Greek fare from GreCo...
Chicken gyro & classic Loukoumades (doughnut holes covered with Greek honey, nuts and cinnamon)

We sampled sandwiches & pastries from the Back Bay Tatte Bakery.
Their food is worth the wait. Their croissants can convert even the staunchest pastry snob.
We introduced the patriarch of the family to bubble tea, from Pin Ming.
Again voted 👍.
Jeremy & I wanted to try the famous Boston lobster roll & clam chowder.
(Warm, buttered version of the roll, please. Not the cold mayo version.)
We hunted up the Boston Chowda Co in the Quincey Hall...
Their lobsta roll & clam chowda did not disappoint! Worth every dollar!!
If we were authentic Bostonians I guess we'd call it wicked good.
Our first time in Boston we tried Mike's Pasteries, so this time we went to their competitor, Modern.
Of course we had to get cannoli...
and Boston cream pie!

chilled in Arianna's dorm room -International Guest House on lovely Beacon St- until it was time for church Sunday afternoon...

We enjoyed a church picnic with Followers of the Way.
Speaking as the current head of our church food committee, I absolutely loved popping into Chipotle on the way to church and voila- easy peasy fellowship dinner, college student style!

As unique as an alley filled with carts & carts of books might be, they didn't seemed to be arranged in any particular order (other than by price) so sadly we weren't successful finding any to purchase.

Actually it was our first time in a Trader Joe's so we could've looked & looked,
but we had to rush off to load up and head home.
Good bye, Beacon Street! She loved living there.
Will she be back in the fall? 🤷🤷
