May flew by while we were too busy to notice. I went with Avery on her first ever school field trip...
I enjoy volunteering at a thrift store with church ladies once a month...
May 10 is when we were treated to the amazing display of "northern lights". What a blessing to see this phenomenon without having to travel to Alaska or somewhere like that! This is from our own back yard. We saw some crazy weather- that is hail on the interstate!
For Mother's Day, Arianna made lunch, including some amazing garlic rosemary focaccia...
...then the next day the family took me out to eat at a Japanese restaurant. I tried a shrimp bento box, which was very good. I took the 2 older grandkids on our annual strawberry picking expedition. They are getting better at it. The day it suited me this year was a rainy day, but we survived. The berries they picked went into jam, which will be enjoyed over the next year.
Avery graduated from Kindergarten. You go, girl!
Colton's 4th birthday party was a Mario theme, complete with a surprise visit from Mario & Luigi. A bubble camera from aunt 'Ana -when she got back from Puerto Rico- was a delight for both boys.
Hooray for peony season- my all-time favorite flower! It never lasts long enough.
Jeremy was on a bike trip one weekend...
...and flew over our house a couple times.
We were happy to discover we have an oriole nest in the tree in our front yard. 👏 No wonder we are going through a suet cake every 2 days! And a jar of grape jelly is rapidly disappearing.
