Meal tickets are a hot item at the auction. Now we have tried. We really have. We have tried various themes, and have more than once spent more out-of-pocket than was raised for the school. I'm not a fabulous cook and certainly not a decorator by an stretch of the imagination. We gave it our best shot, but have decided we are DONE with dinners. Ours simply don't sell well enough to justify the effort & expense. Therefore, this was our grand finale.
Because of the economy ticket price, we made do with what we had on hand as much as possible to keep our personal expense down. I thought A. did a fantastic job on the decor.
We started with French toast kabobs...
Main course was French onion soup, chicken salad croissants and an apple pomegranate salad
(except not a single store had pomegranates that week so our guests were instructed to use their imagination)
And concluded with a dessert buffet...
While not wildly popular, I thought the Eiffel tower cookies were noteworthy.
We won't display a close-up of the macarons. A. has successfully made them before but when we desperately needed them to turn out picture perfect they decided to be uncooperative.
