November Recap

Last month I wrote an October Recap and I rather liked it. So this snowy morning seems like a good opportunity to share November highlights in photos.

Our lives are full with helping out both our parents and kids. That's not to say we're not extremely grateful to have our grandkids close by. Babysitting these 2 is a delight.

The "Christmas" cactus decided to bloom a little early this year.
I was gifted this cactus by a friend who went overseas in mission work and I'm absolutely thankful that I have been able to not only keep it alive, but growing for 8 years.

We miss Arianna a lot. She sends us photos like this from Boston.
Thankful she has this opportunity though.

We went to a singing by the Stoltzfus family one evening. Loved it!
I felt like I worshiped more that evening than I have in awhile. And the littlest singer was just too cute!
Grateful for their music on Spotify; I've been listening to it on repeat at home since.

The first weekend in November we attended Richard's niece's wedding. If you remember from the October post, I attended my nephew's [outdoor] wedding and just about froze... well, a week later it was so nice and warm outside -when it was an indoor wedding with a Christmas theme. Go figure! It was so gorgeous but the weather should've been switched around.
The reception was dreamy, with all those candles...
And the food was 'to die for'.
Really happy she has now found "the one".
And when a wedding takes you near the best cream sticks in the world...
Colton's first taste of cream stick
Thankful for good food and family to share it with.

And then the next week the temperature soared to 80*. In November!!
When your granddaughter calls and says "Grammie, do you want to go to the beach with me?"
there is nothing one can do but drop everything and pack picnic food, right?
Colton loved the feel of sand slipping through his fingers.
Unbelievable for November in our part of the world.
Thankful for this weather.
"We're digging for treasure, Grammie." Our hopes of striking it rich didn't pan out.
"Because we don't have a map" she said.
We have this moment to hold in our hands
And to touch as it slips
Through our fingers like sand
Yesterday's gone
And tomorrow may never come
But we have this moment today
😍 Thankful for these little people. 😍

We went to a birthday party for our DIL one evening.
Thankful for what she adds to our family. We'd be incomplete without her.

We took a couple days off to celebrate our 29th anniversary. You can read more about that here
Thankful for our life together. And love to make the ride worthwhile.

And then Sattler College decided to send all the students home for the holidays -due to COVID- so we scrambled to buy a plane ticket. And tear our guest room apart to make a temporary study room for Arianna to finish the semester online.
Grammie & Avery went to town together. She picked out a DVD at the library. The whole way to the grocery store she repeated "I love this movie!"
In the store she picked up one of those huge plastic candy canes filled with candy and played with it the entire time, up and down the aisles. I wasn't planning to purchase it, but she never gave me opportunity to jettison it. And when we get to the checkout, she places it on the belt and says "Thank you for paying for this, Grammie." What's Grammie supposed to do?!
Grammie even took her to Starbucks for a "lollipop". When the kids say "you never would've done that for us"... #guiltyascharged πŸ˜„ Thankful for the privilege of being grandparents.
Someone was tuckered out from shopping with Grammie...

We were privileged to be invited to a wedding reception for the first of Arianna's classmates to get married. I didn't take any photos of the couple or decor, but there was this fantastic latte bar...
Don't ask if we paid for drinking caffeine so late in the day. πŸ˜” Not so thankful at 4am.

Before we know what happened, we're at the end of the month and it's Thanksgiving already.
We picked up Arianna at the airport the night before. Thankful for safe travels and to have her home again for awhile.
The Millers were together for the traditional feast.
Afternoon nap with PopPop
Someone in the family likes to spoil us with specialty drinks.
Even the little girlies get one.

Colton started crawling this month, but he's not satisfied with that. Oh no, he thinks he has to walk along furniture and behind toys, too. This little stinker is only 6 months old.
We've got an animal lover, just like her momma & daddy.
All in all, this month has been "super fabulous" and we have so much to be thankful for!
Even with COVID coming into our extended family and into our church family. This life is not the end. We have hope for the future. Thankful another election is behind us, too. God is in control and He hasn't lost an election yet. We're walking with Him one day at a time.
